HARRISBURG, PA (Oct. 5, 2012) – PA center for Beef Excellence (CBE) welcomes Devin Cunningham of Silverdale, Pa into its internship program. Devin is a senior at Delaware Valley College where she is pursuing a dual major in Livestock Science & Management and Dairy Science.
Growing up, Devin was actively involved in the Bucks County 4-H programs where she developed her deep passion for livestock through raising, breeding and showing market steers and hogs. Throughout her years at DelVal, Devin has been an active member in Block and Bridle, the Livestock Judging Team, the Agriculture Quiz Bowl Team and numerous agriculture promoting activities.
“Both practical work experience within the industry and networking are extremely important in helping college students prepare for full-time employment upon graduation,” says Ann Nogan, CBE’s executive vice president. “That’s why CBE offers hands-on internship opportunities each year. These internships help introduce students to the industry side of agriculture, while they contribute to the day-to-day operation of the PA Center for Beef Excellence.”
The Center for Beef Excellence was established in 2007 to promote the beef industry through education, production efficiency, government and community relations, and economic development. Representing 28,000 beef producers in Pennsylvania with 1.61 million head of cattle, the industry generates over $2 billion in economic impact yearly in the Commonwealth. The Center for Beef Excellence is an equal opportunity provider.
