Seedstock Production

Seedstock producers breed purebred cattle. Their goal is to breed consistent, productive animals to be parents in a commercial cow-calf operation.

Offspring are marketed to other seedstock breeders or to commercial cattlemen.  It is often seedstock producers who make use of technologies such as artificial insemination and embryo transfer to quickly improve the genetic potential of their animals.
